It’s the holiday season, and we’ve been welcoming many guests from overseas.
We’ve had more inquiries like,
“Can we join the sake blending experience today?”
So when availability allows, we may be able to accept walk-ins.
A very sweet Japanese–Bruneian couple from the UK stopped by Flow and asked if they could join, so we ended up doing a sake blending workshop on the spot—hoping it would be a chance for her to share her culture with him.

After the workshop, she shared the take-home components with her Japanese coworkers, giving them a little lecture, and they all enjoyed them together.
Moments of reverse cultural exchange like this are absolutely the best!

… The host is very knowledgeable and explains the background of Sake, Shirataki brewery, the brewing process and different Sake flavors super well. In this experience you get to try 5 completely different Sake from their lineup and afterwards you blend the ones you liked to create your own unique Sake-blend.
I believe this is such a special memory to take home from your trip to Japan or give as souvenir for someone who could not come along! In the end you get to take home the blend you created as well as the „leftover“ Sake. They also give you a little glass, tote bag and other presents so I really think it is worth the money. Highly recommend joining this experience for anyone interested in Sake!

Beyond the city’s edge, just a short hop from Tokyo, Flow offers a unique sake experience—where discovery, tasting, and creativity come together. The space features a curated shop, a sake taproom, and a hands-on lab where you can explore flavors and craft your own original blend.
Shirataki Sake Brewery was founded in 1855, when Tosuke Minatoya began brewing sake in Yuzawa—nestled in deep snow and nourished by pure meltwater. He welcomed travelers from Tokyo to the Sea of Japan with sake, sharing the warmth of hospitality in every cup.
Since then, Shirataki has blended tradition with innovation, crafting sake that honors its heritage while embracing modern sensibilities. Our signature sake, Jozen Mizuno Gotoshi, embodies the spirit of “Go with the Flow”—embracing nature’s rhythm, adapting with grace.
Today, Flow carries that spirit forward—offering a sake journey that begins in Yuzawa’s snow and ends in your glass. From the snowy peaks to your table, every drop reflects the natural beauty and purity of the region.
白瀧酒造は1855年に湊屋藤助が東京と日本海を結ぶ山脈の麓に位置する湯沢の地で雪解け水に恵まれた自然環境で旅人や商人をもてなすために酒造りを始めたことが起源とされています。
それから170年。長い歴史の中で伝統を守りながらも、代表銘柄「上善如水」に象徴されるように、時代の感性を取り入れた革新的な酒造りを続けてきました。
－雪が溶けて清らかな水となり、田んぼを潤すように、自然の流れに身をゆだね、酒を醸し人を潤す－
「上善如水」の精神 “Go with the Flow” を現代の感性で受け継ぎ、日本酒と自然、人と文化が繋がる新たな場を構想しました。
“Flow” は「循環-流れ-流動」を意味します。
雪・水・米といった自然資源の “循環“ に育まれた日本酒を通じ世界中から行き交う人々の “合流” や感性やアイデアの ”交流” を生み、様々な “Flow (流れ)” が交わる空間で、新しいSAKEカルチャーを醸していく、そんな願いが込められています。
